Upper body and lots of lunges

Today’s workout is one I have done before.  Last time I called it, “To Failure Workout”.  We worked out at 6:00 a.m. this morning and it’s an all business crew in the early hours.  It was a good workout and so nice to get it done early so we could enjoy the last days of SUNSHINE!!!  It’s an easy one to do at home!

100 Walking Lunges


Upright rows (1 minute)

Lateral raises (1 minute)

Overhead Press (1 minute)

30 second rest.  3 SETS

100 Jumping Lunges


Full bicep curl (1 minute)

Top half bicep (1 minute)

Bottom half bicep (1  minute)

30 sec. rest.  3 SETS

100 Walking Lunges


20 Tricep pushups

Head bangers (1 minute)

Tricep overhead extension (1 minute)

30 sec. rest.  3 SETS

100 Jumping Lunges


Full sit ups (1 minute)

 Ab lifts right side (1 minute)

Ab lifts left side (1 minute)

30 sec. rest. 3 SETS

100 Walking Lunges

This one is GREAT too!!  I’m not going to confess my terrible downward spiral I’ve had in the eating department.  I started AGAIN today and I’m really getting serious especially since I have officially begun my personal training program.  It’s going to be AWESOME!!!

Sore butt, legs, and arms! It doesn’t get better than that!

I LOVE this workout!!  I come home feeling weak in the legs and arms and tomorrow I’ll feel even better!  The after effects of our trip are haunting me lately.  Four of the kids contracted PINK EYE while we were gone.  Of course, I am immune to all childhood ailments!  Not so, yesterday my eye became yuckier and redder as the day progressed.  My alarm went off at 5:45 a.m. and I had to pry my eye open.  Gross I know but if you want sympathy, it works.  Everyone looks at me with a sad face like I’ve been crying.  I’ll survive, just like everything that comes my way.  I might even get a gig in the next TWILIGHT movie!!

On to the kick butt WOD!!!  I even took pictures!  It’s been awhile.  Here goes.  You have to think just a little bit.  I have 2 exercises that you swap back and forth.  Start with 50 reps on the first one and 10 on the second.  Then, do 40 of the first and 20 of the second.  30 of the first and 30 of the second.  Do you see where I’m going?  Stay on the first set of exercises throughout the following numbers below!

We didn’t take breaks.  I use 12 lb. weights and on the step ups we counted 2 step ups on each leg as 1.  Half way through we did side step ups.  Once again, easy workout to do at home!!!  Oh and by the way, the mat I’m using is the best mat ever!  It’s from EVERLAST.  I got it at COSTCO several years ago.  SO WORTH IT!!  I can’t do push ups on my toes, GEEZ!

Over the next few days I’m following a BURST CYCLE diet.  I sensed a little disbelief in telling one of my friends my high hopes of getting to wear my HOT PINK SANDALS this week.  We’ll see!!!

The number of the day is 40!

HA HA!!  I thought that quote was funny!  Good advice!  I’ve come up with at least 80 workouts that I bring to my class each week in my pink binder.  It’s getting pretty full.  I usually make up a new one every week.  So, today I looked back to a year ago and found one I did on October 5th of last year.  It’s SIMPLE and HARD at the same time.  We did 10 exercises with 40 reps each.  3 ROUNDS.

40 Plank Jumps Knee to Elbow (hold a plank and jump both knees to one side up to your elbow)

40 Backward Lunge Steps

40 Tricep Pushups

40 Squats with weight above head

40 Situps

40 Burpees

40 Back Extensions

40 High Sumos

40 Tick Tocks 

40 Biceps

After each round we ran around the church 2 times.  It was awesome.  The sweat was stinging my eyes!  This is an easy at-home workout too.  Here’s another funny quote!  I find the dumbest things funny!  HA HA!!!

Death at the Bowery workout

Here are a few of my “peeps”.  They are the BEST!!  I’ll take a better pic this week!!

So, one of my workout friends nicknamed my workouts “Death”.  I take that as the highest compliment!!  Here is last Wednesdays workout.  It was a good one!

40 prisoner squats

We did this 3 times.  On the second time we exchanged running up the hill 3 times for burpees.  On the 3rd time through we did jumping split lunges for the burpees.  We finished with a trio of butt exercises and the walking plank.  Here are a few pics of some of the exercises:
