How to fit into white pants

Happy MONDAY!!  Today started off awesome with a 7 mile trail run!  I’ve been a little worried about my narcolepsy.  If you don’t know what that is, look it up (:  I don’t think one can live a vacation lifestyle, stay at home Mom of 5 kids lifestyle, and a running like crazy exercise lifestyle at the same time without symptoms of narcolepsy!  Lately, this is me on most days!

securedownload-2We’ve taken our kids everywhere, been to concerts, out to lunch, up mountains, and down rivers.  Here we are at a few outings this past week!

securedownload securedownload-1 securedownload-3My favorite day trip was a visit to my Aunt and Uncle’s cabin in Provo canyon.  A childhood favorite filled with memories.  We hiked up a mountain that was falling apart!  We floated down the Provo river on tubes with my 80 year old uncle and cousins.  I was proud that I got all 5 of my children down the river safely!  I can’t say my diet has been totally clean these days!  It’s been too much fun to snack and enjoy yummy summer food.  I think that’s fine if you don’t stay off the wagon for long.  I’m going to try and keep it in check this week so I can fit into my favorite white pants for my parent’s 50th wedding anniversary party on Saturday!  You’ll have to see if I made my goal by what I’m wearing!  I am lucky that I’ll be running 16 miles that day!

After my 15 miler last week, I realized this is the ultimate post workout stretch!!

securedownload-6It was a great run!  I didn’t feel super strong, but at one time during the run, my fastie friend told me to slow down!  What a compliment!

Onto my advice for how to fit into a favorite pair on pants!  Besides running and lifting, which you should do EVERY day as effective and strong as possible, you should fill your body with good fuel!  I follow a fitness enthusiast that helps keep me motivated.  She’s real close to my height and build.  Her name is Erin Simmons.

ErinSimmons_HeaderWhen I get in a non healthy eating rut, I pull out inspirational people’s eating plans.  She also has amazing abs!  Here is a great video for abs that I want to try too!

Click HERE to see here daily eating plan!  For the most part I need to fill up on protein, fiber, fruits, and vegetables.  This will help!!

Next adventure on the list is a 2 day trip to Bear Lake.  This one will be relaxing, read a book condo style trip.  I still want to run or do a killer workout such as 10 sets of 30 burpees and 30 situps!!  I read that workout on Erin Simmons’ blog!  GEEZ!!  I just might try it.  Scary (:

Summer Rain

Beautiful day!  It rained!  Love this pic.  I will run rain or shine as long as I have a buddy.

I LOVE SUMMER!  I love everything about it!  You will never hear me complain about anything…except maybe a little bit about my adorable children being so close to me 24/7!  I really like my quiet, alone time.  Today we went on a run up my favorite trail near my home!  Of course many of my “besties” came with me.  It is so fun to have such fun and crazy friends just like me to hang out with!  Here we are:

I also got new TRAIL shoes!  Last week, me (of course) tripped over my ankle and skidded to a stop on both legs and my hand.  I came out better than expected, but Rob thought I needed a shoe with more traction.  So, here they are.

I have NO clue about good or bad trail shoes.  I was happy when my expert trail running friend took one look at them and said they were the BEST!!  Yay!  They are called Brooks Cascadia 7.  First day out and they were great!  I was even able to tie my own shoelaces the first time I wore them!  Hee hee.  It is late and I fell off the healthy wagon and I’m eating taffy!

On to the serious, boring stuff.  Here is my food of the day:

oatmeal, strawberries, apple, 2 egg whites, 1 egg

1/4 turkey sandwich, 1/2 c. chicken wild rice soup, 6 cashews

10 chips dipped in 6 layer bean dip, watermelon, 2 pumpkin cookies

protein shake, veges, rice cake with PB

cereal, 2 turkey muffins, 2 pumpkin cookies

I was a little snacky today!  You don’t want to know what I ate from 9:30-11:30, so I won’t say.  I’ll be good tomorrow.  My cute sissy is in town.  We have fun doing all our favorite things together and reminiscing!  Here we are at the park today:

My workout today was the 7 mile trail run and an hour long abs and arms workout at the gym.  I was a little draggin’ today.  Next week, I want to run up and down on my favorite hill and do tons of BURPEES and SITUPS and PUSHUPS!  Maybe I can coerce someone to join me?

This was my back yard view as a child.  One of the most relaxing places I know.  I used to lay on my bed (that was pushed right up to the window) and look outside my open window and listen to the sprinklers.  I’d be listening to music on my ghetto blaster, waiting for a cheesy love song to come on so I could record it on a cassette tape.  So funny!

Enjoy SUMMER.  Live it to the fullest, just like EVERY day and ALWAYS remember:

Never Settle!

So, I had a small mental breakdown yesterday and started furiously scribbling my frustrations on a pad of paper.  One of my greatest pet peeves are UNRELIABLE and I CAN’T people!  I am not perfect either.  I am always revamping and rationalizing my fitness goals.  I have such a problem kicking my sugar tooth!  THIS POST IS FOR ME!  I’m going back to a favorite word of mine:

CONQUER-TO SUCCESSFULLY OVERCOME A PROBLEM OR WEAKNESS.  VANQUISH.  WIN.  BEAT.  OVERPOWER.  DEFEAT.

I have a GOAL to be at 18% body fat and weigh 129 lbs.  I want sculpted arms and lean muscular legs.  I want to run a 3:29 marathon in less than a month.  I will GIVE everything I have to achieve this.  I WILL NOT GIVE UP!  I believe anyone can accomplish anything they want in life.  It is HARD.  You will FAIL…before you WIN.

One of the BEST athletes of all time said, “I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”

~ Michael Jordan

Dedication.  Commitment.  Passion.  Tenacity.  Cut the crap excuses and stop blaming everything and everyone for your failed attempts at YOUR GOALS.  Make it a priority.  How bad do you want it?  The human mind and body can achieve and accomplish so MUCH MORE than you feel you are capable of.  BELIEVE IT AND LIVE UP TO IT!
