A few favorites and the #1 highest endorphin producing food

Today has been a great catch up day!  I had Grandma lined up to watch my kindergartener while I went to a field trip.  Happy day!  The field trip was rained out and my son still wanted to go to Grandmas.  I don’t think I’ve had this many hours in an empty house, ever!  So, I got caught up on my housework, emails and scheduling.  While I was ironing, which I almost never do, I watched Dr. Oz.  Again, something I never do.  I like Dr. Oz.  He speaks my language.  He talked about hair care, the benefits of fiber, the superfood quinoa, and cocoa!  Besides exercise, the #1 endorphin producing food is COCOA.  Not chocolate, the bitter 70% or more pure cocoa.  I love this stuff!

Try this Dr. Oz Hot Cocoa recipe!


1 cup unsweetened coconut milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 tsp raw cacao powder
1/4-1/2 tsp powdered stevia, to taste
Mix all of the ingredients together and heat on the stove over medium heat. Bring to a boil and simmer for 3 minutes.

Let cool for a few minutes and serve!

This will be my yummy winter treat when it’s cold!

Yesterday, we went to Park City to shop around.  The leaves are changing and this is one of my most favorite sites to see!



This led me to think of a few favorites as of late!  Number 1!!!  I found a new favorite smell.  I walked into Bath and Body works and immediately smelled the best thing ever!!  I found a candle burning and it was called Pumpkin Pecan Waffle.

m8AsSdDDHZSBIdefI5gkndwI bought the candle and the lotion.  Heavenly!  I need to make pumpkin pecan waffles now!  Instead, I found this favorite fall recipe to try!  Cream cheese filled pumpkin bread!

Go up in a swing and drink lemonade


Tonight I’m writing.  This is for Wednesday.  How to stay emotionally fit?  I think I’m a person that likes to be in control, that keeps emotions to myself, and one that struggles when I  can’t figure out the solution to something, or have what I want.  I’m a little sleep deprived as I write and in a few short minutes I’ll be dreaming.  Not to vent or anything, but when you stay up most of the night with a sick child and watch them suffer and you can’t do anything about it, your heart breaks.  My heart hurts.  Exercise has been my happy endorphin, my peace , and a boost for my emotional health.  I’m a little broken too.  The BIG gombu has hit our house, some getting it worse than others.  My ribs are sore to the touch from coughing so much.  I’m better now, but I need to wait out the soreness.  I tried to run tonight and couldn’t accomplish what I had expected and it frustrated me and made me sad.  SOOOOOOOOOOO…..what to do when life gets you down?  Ohhhh, you make lemonade.  Being injured is never fun!  But of course my favorite college quote comes to my mind….this will all be but a brief moment.  And it will.  Happiness is a choice of course.  Here is my impromptu How To Be HAPPY LIST when you are injured!!!

Look for the rainbow

I start to see a LIGHT at the end of the tunnel when March rolls around.  I LOVED getting this music video today by email.  Seriously some of my favorite music and they are LOCALS from my town.  Spring is around the corner and tomorrow is a new day. We do what we can and then we stand a little taller and try to improve with each day.  This video makes me HAPPY and motivates me to LIVE each DAY better than the day before and especially with more HAPPINESS!!!
