Love your body

O.K.  I did not fall off the planet.  As I look back on the last three months, I realize there is no way I can recap everything!  Here is a quick summary since December 18.  I had a birthday!!  I love birthdays and I hope to always be happy and not care about my age with each passing year.  Live it up!  Here we are on my birthday run to Sunshine Cafe.IMG_9933January was long, cold, and snowy.  My sweet sister came out to stay with me for 2 1/2 weeks with her 3 kids while she had a surgery.  I was Doctor Holly for awhile.  Her 7 year old was recently diagnosed with diabetes and that made everything a little more complex, but I loved having her visit.  She lives far away in Connecticut! IMG_0296 I’ve skied, but not nearly enough.  Here are a few pics. from a trip with my brother and another with friends!  Love to ski (:

IMG_0541IMG_0543Then, my 10 year old daughter has been in several too many cheer competitions.  One of them taking us to the beautiful city of Portland!  We had such a great time.  A few of my friends came with their daughters too.

IMG_0820IMG_0830IMG_0739IMG_0742We saw many sights including Pittock mansion, Old Town, Portland LDS temple, and my favorite, Multinomah falls!  We ate at wonderful local restaurants trying everything.  I should have taken pictures of the food!  We had gourmet salads, sushi, curry, thai, mexican, italian, and of course we had to try the famous Voodoo doughnuts and the best ice cream store in the world, Salt and Straw.

We even made time to teach a HIGH class and go on a dreamy, rainy run!  It was tough to go home!

Right now, I’m keeping busy with kids plays and activities.  Hopefully I’ll be more consistent on posting from here on out!  Spring is in sight and has given me new energy.  My healthy topic for the day is this:

IMG_0842-2

A friend of mine sent this to me and said it reminded her of me.  I’m so glad!  This is why I work out.  Of course I have my own body image issues, I think everyone does, but focusing on the positive is always my motto.

Quick story!  My heart just broke in a million pieces this weekend.  I came home Saturday night and went to talk to my 15 year old daughter in her room.  I could tell something was wrong.  This week we decided to start a healthy challenge together with some of our friends.  We made many wonderful goals and rules to follow.  Some of them were exercise 30 minutes every day, no eating after 8 p.m., 3-5 fruits and veggies a day, and no junk food such as cookies, candy, chips, etc…Well, when I asked my daughter what was wrong, her eyes filled up with tears and she said, “I just want to eat what I want, when I want, and not worry about it.”  Oh my complete sadness to hear her say these words!  Our precious daughters are in a world of high body image ideals and expectations.  Media and people all around them tell them they need to look a certain way and what they should be doing to look prettier, be skinnier, and have everyone like you.  How I hope and pray she continues to grow up with confidence and happiness when it comes to her appearance.  We had a good talk and both cried and I told her to stop the challenge right then and there and that we would modify it to fit her needs.  I’ve been doing things like this for years and I didn’t realize that it would be too much for her to take all at once.IMG_0176  Remember as you embark on your own fitness journeys to make a plan just for you and only you and to set realistic goals.  Don’t compare yourself to anyone else.  If and when you mess up, do not beat yourself up about it.  Start fresh the next day and keep going.  I’m a pro at starting and restarting (:  If you can find one small thing to improve on each day then you’ve made your goal.  Love your body.  Eat.  Focus on the positive.  Never give up.  Smile.  You are unique, beautiful, and perfectly perfect just the way you are!

Eat smart be happy!

Well!  It’s been a few!  I have so much good stuff this might turn into a long ramble.  It’ll be good though.  Thanksgiving has come and gone.  We had a wonderful weekend.  It’s my favorite holiday!!  I did fall into a food coma/hangover on Thanksgiving night.  Too many pies to choose from.  Here are a few pictures I took.  Me and my daughter have a tradition going on with this one!  Here we are on Thanksgiving last year and the year before:

IMG_9408

And here we are this year!  She’s getting bigger.  Thank heavens I’m not (: ha ha!!  It was pretty cold this year too!  Brrrrrr!

IMG_9403.JPG

We also took a quick family picture for the annual Christmas card!  Cuties!

IMG_0088

Next up, ski season started!  Yay Yay Yay!

IMG_9370

I’m looking forward to a great season.  The kids love it!

Now, on to my healthy side, I finished my Jamie Eason Dietbet challenge and I won!  That means I lost 4% of my body weight and won $47.00.  So what’s next, you wonder??  I’m going to try a new program by Amber Dodzweit.  When it comes to anything I want to do well at, I copy what someone else has already done successfully.  She has the most amazing legs.  My focus will be on that.  Her method is about having lean muscle and not the bulk.  She’s not into lifting super heavy but more HIIT workouts.  It’ll be a nice change!

11201615_1132278333467795_5644912743347971760_n

Of course I do have a small injury to report and this one is such a dumb one.  I slipped and fell on a slippery deck down a few stairs and landed on my tailbone.  It’s thrown me out of whack and is such a PAIN! (: It is slowly healing.  This Friday we’re going to Mexico so I’ll have plenty of time for R & R.  I’m so excited and need this in a big way.  I’ll take lots of pics.

I need to say a little bit about FOOD too!  It is everything.  Get used to eating less and cutting out the crap.  No matter how hard you work out, you will be spinning your wheels if you can’t get over your food addictions.  I still fall back many times, but I get back up and keep trying.  When I get back from Mexico I’m going to start this new training program.  One day a week I’ll have a treat meal.  That’s it (: I found a great quote that makes me laugh:

IMG_9119

Here are a few of my favorite food staples.  I have them almost daily!

IMG_9309

PROTEIN POWDER.  This time I made pancakes with it!

IMG_9310

VEGGIES and CHICKEN (or another protein source) and food that is HOMEMADE!  This tomato soup was the BOMB!

My favorite SNACKS.  These are seriously a must for me.  I eat the apples and Quest bar as a one of my meals and the protein balls and fudge bites are usually after lunch or dinner and I need a sweet treat.  I eat one or two.

IMG_9416.JPG

And lastly, this is a vitamin drink I give my kids every morning.  I swear by it for helping them not get sick.  It’s the best and they tell me they can tell the difference when they drink it.  It’s elderberry juice concentrate and liquid vitamin D.  Stay healthy!

O.K.  I also have a workout for you and a workout pic.  Most of my favorite clothes are exercise clothes (:  I loved this workout!

O.K.  I need to get going and organizing the grand schedule while we’re away.  Enjoy this new song by ONE D.  They have a new album out that my daughter and I listen to almost every day!

And I love this quote.  Live life happily.  Work Hard Forever*

Cut out these 2 things to shrink and a HIIT workout!

Hello!  Time to mix things up again.  I’m always looking for new and different variations of workouts.  Lately I’ve been working out with my friends.  We decided to do 30 days of NO SUGAR AND NO WHITE FLOUR.  I have to say I’ve been nailing it!  Today is DAY 9 and even with a trip to St. George and 2 family Halloween parties over the weekend, I’ve stayed STRONG!!  My one mess up was buying a bag of kettle corn at the gas station on the way home from our trip.  I’m notorious to fall asleep the second I get in a car so since I was driving for 4-5 hours I had to munch on food almost the entire ride home.  After the carrots, apples, nuts, and protein bar were gone I opted for a Diet Coke (which I don’t really like anyway) and kettle corn.  Not so bad!  Everything really is about FOOD!!  I saw this funny quote on Instagram today.  Ha ha ha ha!

IMG_8927

When it comes to weight loss and muscle gains it’s about what you put in your mouth!  After that it’s about killer HIIT and weight workouts.  Here’s one I’m going to try with my friends this week!  Can’t wait!

Workout #1  This is weird.  I guess you have to click on it to open it up!  Makes it more fun that way.  My binge problem has been fine.  Challenges keep me motivated.  Along with my 30 days of no sugar I want to start a 4 week eat clean plan on Monday that Jamie Eason is hosting.  What better time to get rid of the garbage right before Thanksgiving (:  Next week I’ll post about all the GREAT food you CAN eat.  Sunday night I was looking for a snack and I cut up a pear and had some sweet potato chips with guac.  The pear tasted like candy.  Real good food tastes better when you take out the SUGAR.

Alright!  I’ll end with a couple pics. of my trip.  We saw this rainbow as we turned a corner and it was so bright and perfect.  A little gift of happiness for me to see (:  Have a good one.  Work Hard Always.

3 basics for losing fat and building muscle

Hello!!  Today is a gorgeous FALL day!!  This morning we went on our favorite trail run!  I set my timer.  Each week I want to get faster and be able to keep up with my friends.  I hope the weather holds for as long as possible.  The leaves are perfect right now!  We made it up in 42:42 and down in 30.10.  Next week, 40 and 29 (:  Great way to start the week and day!!

IMG_8777 IMG_8774Well, my Oxygen Challenge ended and I’m a little upset at myself because I didn’t eat the way I should have!  I saw my normal results when I go strict for a short time.  I need to work on maintaining my strict bod for longer (:  My friends and I decided to do NO SUGAR OR WHITE FLOUR for 30 days!  Surprise surprise!  We talked again about how nutrition is about 80% of the results.  Soooooo, starting today until November 10th.  I’m on.  It’s more fun to do it with friends!

This will be an amazing 30 days.  I’m still sticking to my 12 week weight lifting program.  I decided to do Amanda’s Month 2 workout for the first 4 weeks and then hop over to Jamie Eason’s for the last 8 weeks.  The next 4 weeks will look like this, but not necessarily in this order.

Monday: Lower Body

Tuesday: Shoulders, biceps, triceps, cardio

Wednesday: Amanda’s better-booty workout

Thursday: Lower body, abs

Friday: Back, chest, HIIT

Another thing I’m going to work on that I’m not too consistent with is taking supplements.  I read an article from Samantha Ann Leete on bodybuilding.com about supplements.  I like what she recommended.

sam-leete-fit-360-graphics-supps-1

This might look like a lot of craziness, but I’m going to experiment and see if it makes a difference.  This is what I’ll be taking on a regular basis.

In a nutshell, most of these supplements will assist in fat loss, support a healthy cardiovascular system, increase immunity, support brain function and nervous system, provide joint support, help manage inflammation, preserve muscle, reduce body fat, and help build, sustain, and recover.  Whew!  Miracle workers pretty much.  I purchase these at Max Muscle, GNC, or bodybuilding.com

I’m set!  The top 3 basics for losing fat and building muscle are: Nutrition goals, workout plan, and supplements.  I’ll keep up with my posts on how I look and feel.  As always I love a challenge and setting goals.  Now get to work work!!  (:

Workouts for injuries, biking, and MORE

Hey there!  I missed last Friday so I have a few thoughts from life to share!  I have a new workout plan for 3 weeks that is great for someone with a foot injury (that would be me) or anyone who wants low impact, but kick your trash workout!  First off, I have a picture of my beautiful bike that I LOVE so much!!!

IMG_0047 (1)I might look like I know something about biking, but really I don’t!  I’ve gone about 7 times now.  I live in a pretty hilly neighborhood and HOLY COW I think biking a hill is harder than running it!  I LOVE it!  My friends are already planning a race to do together in AUGUST.  I need to learn a little bit more biker lingo and etiquette.

Biking will be my cardio of choice for at least 3 weeks while I heal a STRESS FRACTURE!! I finally went to the doc.  Wish I went 3 weeks ago, but it’s good to know that it is a stress fracture and if I wear this beautiful STORM TROOPER boot for 3 weeks I will be healed!!  I try not to think about how it felt to RUN or do my HIGH FITNESS classes.  I’m hoping to come back even stronger.  Summer injuries are especially not fun!  ANYWAY!!!  HERE I am with my boot!  Everyone tells me how cute my purple running shoes are.  Before the boot that’s all I was wearing because it felt good on my foot.

IMG_0097 IMG_0095

The other day I was at the gym and I LOVED my workout.  I found it from a fitness girl I follow and yes she’s doing a 12 week training program too.  Awww dang, too many workouts to choose from I can’t decide!

IMG_0081I changed it up a bit to fit my needs right now.

WARM UP

5 minute row machine

5 minute eliptical

5 minute spin bike

3 X

15 Push ups

10 Pull ups (that would be assisted for me!)

20 Thigh Adductor (inner thigh machine)

20 Leg Extensions

3 minute bike

3X

20 Alternating biceps

20 Weighted sit ups

20 Tricep Extension

20 Thigh Abductor (outer thigh machine)

20 Lying ham curls

I usually move at a fairly quick pace through each exercise.  Yesterday, I thought of workouts I could do over the next 3 weeks.  This is what I’ll be doing!

Bike 3-4 days a week

Strength Train 3 days a week:

Back Biceps Abs

Chest Triceps Abs

Shoulders Legs Abs

I’m not sure of the days yet and all the exercises involved.  I’ll be putting that together tonight so I can bike to the gym and  lift on Saturday!  Here’s a fitness tip to remember!  I’ll be o.k. if I can’t run or do a crazy amount of cardio!

IMG_0073-2

I’m loving SUMMER and the warm weather and relaxed FUN schedule!!  Last weekend we went boating with friends.  Here’s a pic. with my daughter.  She’s been working hard with a musical she’s involved in.  She’ll play Gabriella in High School Musical this weekend!!  Can’t wait to see her!  Have a GREAT sunny weekend.  Enjoy the outdoors.  (: Smile

Oxygen Challenge and Biking!

Happy Summer Day! Every week I’m sure I talk about a new challenge or goal I want to work on. Well, I found one that I will not change for 3 months!! This last challenge I did with my friends was o.k., but I felt like I didn’t really get into it like I wanted to. SO, when my Oxygen magazine came in the mail on Saturday, I was so HAPPY to find just what I was looking for. Two of some of my favorite fitness gals are teaming up with Oxygen magazine and offering a 90 day challenge!

11255490_995442743807392_9056843016807114965_n

You pick which team you want to be on and then follow the workouts and nutrition program for 90 days.  Look it up at Oxygen Magazine.  I’ve always wanted to try a personal trainer or to get in such crazy fit shape for awhile and well…I’m not getting an younger so SEIZE THE DAY! My only problem is that it doesn’t start until July 15th!!  One month!  I don’t want to get in too good of shape too soon (: so I think I’ll coast for a few weeks, which I NEED to do.  Both of my feet have very annoying injuries right now.  I’ll use this month to rest up and take up BIKING!!!

Last week, I borrowed a friend’s bike!  I really should of taken a picture.  She leant me the WORKS, outfit, shoes, helmet, and an incredibly nice road bike.  I’m pretty sure it was the bike, BUT I think I have a knack for it (:  We went along an awesome 12 mile out and back hilly road.  I LOVED it!  #nevertooyoung right??  And the best thing, my feet didn’t hurt at all and I felt like a got a killer workout!  I’d love to bike in the summer just around sunset when it’s cooled off or in the early morning when the sun comes up.  I just need to convince my husband now that this is a good thing!

Back to my challenge, I’m picking Erin to follow.  I bounced back and forth a little bit, but I think she is more like my personality and style!  Here are a few pics. of her with words I live by as well!  I think I need to get my sister on board with this one at happybeinghealthy!

I’m kind of in a quote mood!  I’ll end with a few more that I liked today and a pic. from my latest HIGH class!  I will miss my HIGH and RUNNING, but I’m tired of only being able to go 1/2 way!  A rest will make me stronger I know!  Have a wonderful DAY!  Enjoy every golden sunshine and SMILE!

Get fitter and healthier this summer!

Hello and Happy First Day of Summer!!!

wpid-hello-june1

Today was a successful and accomplished day!  I’m writing this between 2 baseball games so I’ll be quick!

Last weekend our family went camping for 2 days with my brother and his family.  When I say camping I mean 40 minutes away up a beautiful canyon sleeping in tent trailers and having my brother and his wife cook for us!  I love camping so much! (:  I did contribute the SMORES which I have to admit I went a little overboard!!  I really need to kick the habit of pigging out on the weekend.  This is the funniest thing!  One of my healthy challenge participants emailed me her weight loss success on her Garmin!!  It’s FANTASTIC!!

photo 1

Now take a look at mine!

photo 2

What the heck is wrong with me!?  That giant spike is 3 days!  Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (:  I have to say though I don’t believe it’s all REAL weight, whatever that means, because when I get home I lose about a pound a day for a few days!  SOOOO my new goal for the rest of the year is… to only have 3 TREAT days a month!  I have officially murdered my New Year’s Goals so now that I’m half way through the year I’m only going to work on this ONE goal!  I think that was my problem, I had too many goals!  What I really want to work on is recording EVERYTHING in MY FITNESS PAL.  When I want to eat too much of everything, I don’t record it (:  I don’t think I could handle seeing 5000 calories on one day!  I have also been ULTRA diligent with my Jamie Eason weight workouts.  Haven’t missed a day in 3 weeks except for last Saturday when we were hiking!  And once again after a strict clean diet, weightlifting is where it’s at!  I really need to cut out cardio next week because my stupid achilles pain flares up every time I do cardio!  I sat down and mapped out my SUMMER WORKOUT SCHEDULE!  This is like Christmas for me (:  Some days I’m sure it won’t be this exactly.

MONDAY: Track weight workout/High Fitness

TUESDAY: Weights/High Fitness

WEDNESDAY: RUN/Weights

THURSDAY: High Fitness/Weights

FRIDAY: Weights/High Fitness

SATURDAY: RUN/Weights

On some of those non running days I will add 20-30 minutes of interval sprints on the treadmill.  When I say weights, I work a different muscle group every day.

This is an example:

Monday:Biceps/Triceps/Abs

Tuesday:Legs

Wednesday: Chest/Abs

Thursday: Shoulders

Friday: Legs

Saturday: Back/Rear Delts

O.K.  Summer is much easier for me to workout since I don’t have to worry about my 6 year old.  He has brothers and sisters galore to play with him.  I thought of something so PROFOUND the other day.  I discovered that when I start to crave something that is not very healthy to eat, it is because I AM HUNGRY!!  Amazing!  So!!  What do I do?  I stop what I’m doing a grab some food out of the fridge and eat yummy healthy food!  After that I am fine and I forget about my cravings!  So, EAT!!  Just for fun, here is what I ate today from My Fitness Pal!

My Dinner!

My Dinner!

I only have one small body fat percentage point I want to lose!  I’ll post the whole page of this body composition deal they do at the gym!  It’s interesting and motivating!

Well, I need to be off!  I’ll end with pics from the trip!!  So FUN!!  We especially LOVED the hike to Lake Mary and were surprised by all the snow!!  Ha Ha!!

Slash body fat meal plan

HELLO!!!  I’m so excited for summer!  Our weather is actually cooperating for the moment.  We have one week left of school and then it’s PARTY time (: not completely, but I’m looking forward to a change of schedule!  Next to Christmas, the summer months are the hardest for me to stay diligent with my eating!!  With the late nights, endless parties, family and friends, vacations….it’s easy to lose control!  My healthy challenge that I’ve been in charge of for my friends has been wonderful!  I have heard so much positive feedback and so many have lost weight.  We have one week left!  I told my teams to take a few days off and then start it all over again!  Diet needs to be consistent and a lifestyle.  I’m also proud of myself for sticking with Jamie Eason weeks 5 and 6!  Next week I’ll be stepping it up and I’m looking forward to pushing myself.

I bet many of my readers and Instagram followers think I’m constantly on vacation.  Well I guess I am! (:  Last week I took the girls and friends to St. George!  We had a great time!  Here are my pics. of the week.  Lots of swimming in SG and the last one is a favorite workout outfit of mine.  Lulu tanks are my fav because they are LONG.  This was at the gym right after my workout!

photo 1 photo 2 IMG_20150524_175922017 photo 3

photo-4OK!!  I need to be quick because I have to eat lunch and make food for our latest weekend getaway!  We’re going camping and hiking with my bro!  It’s kind of an annual tradition.  Only 2 nights, but I love it!  So relaxing.  I love the fire and the SMORES (:

I read an article that caught my eye on the Yahoo Financial page.  It was about a company that had 3 of their employees follow a strict diet and exercise program.  The exercise program was 4 months long and then the diet was the last 30 days.  They agreed to this with the knowledge that they would pose naked for a marketing advertisement.  It was tastefully done.  I won’t post pics. but you can look it up!  I’m always interested in the way people fine tune their bodies.  The man got his body fat down to 5% and the girls were between 12-14%.  I copied a few things from the article!  I thought it was very true and interesting!!

Diet was the key to their success “No matter how much exercise you do, that will only get you part of the way. In terms of seeing abs and muscle definition, it’s all about diet and reducing your body fat percentage. That’s essential,” Moritz says. For the last four weeks, the Viceroy executives committed to a grueling diet. The goal, said Moritz, was to cut body fat so that the muscles they’d been toning for the previous four months would shine through.

For Moritz — who was still able to recite the diet by heart months after the shoot — the meals consisted of:

Meal 1: 1/2 cup oatmeal, 1/2 cup almond milk, 1/2 cup blueberries, one scoop carb-free protein shake

Meal 2: 3 egg whites, 1/4 cup plain potatoes

Meal 3: 3 oz. ground turkey, low-carb wrap with a cup of romaine lettuce

Meal 4: 3 oz. grilled chicken and 1/4 of an avocado

Meal 5: 6 oz. fish with a 1/4 cup steamed jasmine rice and six pieces of asparagus

Meal 6: 6 oz. of 99% lean ground beef with 1/4 avocado and 1 cup romaine lettuce

No alcohol was allowed and most condiments were banned (with the exception of hot sauce, since it added a negligible amount of extra sugar or fat) That’s it, each and every day, for an entire month!  In addition to the diet, the executives stuck to a grueling fitness routine. All of them worked out every day for an hour and a half, seven days a week with the help of professional trainers at their local Equinox gym.

After following My Fitness Pal for almost 2 weeks, I know it is all about diet!  I think people misjudge the amount of calories they consume by about 1000 every day!!  My husband probably thought I was cooky when I told him I wanted to buy a food scale!  Maybe I’m extreme, but I love it!

Alrighty, that’s all I got for today!!  I’m going to go cut up veggies and fruit and make protein balls and fudge bites for camping!!  Have a wonderful SUNNY weekend!!

2015 Fitness Goals-finally lose weight!

Happy Merry Christmas Eve!!!  I can finally say WHEW!!!  I have been burning both ends of the candle.  I love this time of year.  For me, it’s a time of reflection.  So much has happened this year, ups and downs, wonderful family friends, running Boston (I can’t believe I did that), and many more!  I also love to wipe the slate clean and start a new year!  Since I’m so far behind on my blogging, I’ll organize my thoughts a little!!  3 topics:

  1. Updated photos of the last few weeks.
  2. My inspiring sister and her 18 week streak.
  3. The unveiling of my 2015 fitness goals that I ALWAYS keep (:  Exciting stuff, I know!

First off, birthday photos.  I always go a little crazy with my birthday plans.  This year, we had a fun friend lunch, stayed in Huntsville with friends (I wish we could of stayed longer), RAN in freshly falling snow on my birthday morning!  Did some Christmas shopping (not fun), had dinner and saw the lights on Temple Square.  AND…my friends planned another birthday run this morning!!!  I’m in need of a nap…zzzz.

Friend lunch!

Temple Square! Sorry for the fuzziness.

Temple Square! Sorry for the fuzziness.

Next, a few photos from the annual Family Christmas party.  My little cow and Joseph.  The dwindling nativity scene.  The kids are getting too old!

photo 1-4 photo 2-10O.K.  On to #2!!  My cute sister in Connecticut.  I miss her.  I talked with her on the phone the other day and she told me all about her fitness success!  When she was visiting this summer we discussed exercise and I suggested T25.

Screen-Shot-2014-02-01-at-11.40.18-PM-600x340I’ve never done these workouts.  I know they are part of the Beachbody workouts and P90X.  I knew they were short and intense.  She didn’t want a gym and she doesn’t have a lot of time as a Mom of 3 young children.  This has been the perfect gem for her!  She told me she has not missed a workout in 18 weeks!!  She has more energy and doesn’t get as winded going up stairs or playing with her kids.  She’s even confessed to flexing in the mirror.  I’m so proud of her.  She’s never been a crazy workout fanatic like me but she’s wanted something.  Here we are in April after the Boston marathon!

photo-78

She said the first two weeks were the hardest and then she just didn’t want to miss after that!  I’m going to be thinking of her as I tackle my 2015 goals of fitness!  Which leads me to my grand list!!  I have ONE main goal that I will keep all year and then 6 smaller  goals.

0001BG

I think it’s easier and more effective to have smaller and shorter goals.  I’ll keep you updated.  All I have to worry about for the first two months is total healthy clean eating with one day off a month.  Can’t wait!!  Well, I need to go make some rolls and possibly close my eyes for an hour.  We’ll see.  So happy and grateful for this time of year!  My family, friends, and my love of the gospel of Jesus Christ!  Have a wonderful Christmas!!

Update on goals. Stick with it!

Today is Saturday!!  My kids had school off Thursday and Friday for Fall Break and I just got back from St. George.  I’m a little confused as to what day it is!!  I can’t go this long between posts!  Next week I’ll be more organized!  October is a blip on the radar.  It is flying!  I’m sticking to my goals and eating well.  My new commitment is to weigh and measure myself every Monday.  Doing this keeps me in check and from straying too far from my fitness goals. I loved my workouts while I was out of town.

DAY 1 we ran one mile on the treadmill at an 8 minute pace, worked chest and abs, and then ran intervals of 20 on and 10 off with the treadmill set between a 9-10.

DAY 2 was a FUN 11 mile run.  It turned into a tour of the city.  I loved running through streets and neighborhoods I’m not familiar with and not really knowing how long our run would be.  It felt great!!

DAY 3 we worked shoulders, back, and a cardio circuit!!  Try this one at home!!  3 stations: burpees, kettlebell swings, and situps.  The burpee station was the timer.  25 burpees.  That was about 1:45-2:00 minutes.  When the burpee person finished we switched stations.  4 rounds!  Loved it!  Easy way to whip out 100 burpees.

Food has been good!  I recommitted myself for the rest of the month with only 2 days off.  One was on the trip.  Waffles, chocolate carmel bars, ice cream, and chocolate chip cookies.  Lovely.  My stomach didn’t like that much, but I went right back to normal the next day and I feel fine!  So far my mini goals work for me!  I’ll tell you what my prize is at the end when I accomplish my goal! Next, I found my dream body!  I’m sure most people think this is too muscley.  Dang!  I love working for something like this and I love lifting.  One day (:  Work Hard.  That’s all that matters!
