Hello! Time to mix things up again. I’m always looking for new and different variations of workouts. Lately I’ve been working out with my friends. We decided to do 30 days of NO SUGAR AND NO WHITE FLOUR. I have to say I’ve been nailing it! Today is DAY 9 and even with a trip to St. George and 2 family Halloween parties over the weekend, I’ve stayed STRONG!! My one mess up was buying a bag of kettle corn at the gas station on the way home from our trip. I’m notorious to fall asleep the second I get in a car so since I was driving for 4-5 hours I had to munch on food almost the entire ride home. After the carrots, apples, nuts, and protein bar were gone I opted for a Diet Coke (which I don’t really like anyway) and kettle corn. Not so bad! Everything really is about FOOD!! I saw this funny quote on Instagram today. Ha ha ha ha!
When it comes to weight loss and muscle gains it’s about what you put in your mouth! After that it’s about killer HIIT and weight workouts. Here’s one I’m going to try with my friends this week! Can’t wait!
Workout #1 This is weird. I guess you have to click on it to open it up! Makes it more fun that way. My binge problem has been fine. Challenges keep me motivated. Along with my 30 days of no sugar I want to start a 4 week eat clean plan on Monday that Jamie Eason is hosting. What better time to get rid of the garbage right before Thanksgiving (: Next week I’ll post about all the GREAT food you CAN eat. Sunday night I was looking for a snack and I cut up a pear and had some sweet potato chips with guac. The pear tasted like candy. Real good food tastes better when you take out the SUGAR.
Alright! I’ll end with a couple pics. of my trip. We saw this rainbow as we turned a corner and it was so bright and perfect. A little gift of happiness for me to see (: Have a good one. Work Hard Always.
Happy September and back to school! I’m happy Fall is in the air. I love seeing the leaves change and having a new change of pace. I love the harvest decorations, the cooking, and smells of the season! We are remodeling our yard and peach trees are on the list. My favorite!
O.K. first matter of business, FOOD! Our weekend in Heber was a MAJOR stay strong challenge for me. I don’t want to even talk about all the amazing good food goin’ on up there. I didn’t cheat once amidst chocolate chip cookie pie, grilled pizza, shakes, and more. I’m proud of myself and I’m proud of this healthy meal I whipped up last night and then ate today for lunch!
It’s spaghetti squash with pasta sauce and zucchini and a salad with tuna on top. Did you know that real whole food tastes so much better when you’re not eating processed and sugary food? I am weird, but my vitamin drink tastes so good to me! I will say that while everyone was over eating and experiencing stomach pain on our trip, I was feeling great. No stomach issues.
Next, working out. I’ve loved my workouts over the past week minus my RUNNING! I’m doing perfect with my eating healthy, but I think I’m eating more like a body builder and less like a runner. They are not the same! That’s o.k. I’m going to add more calories 2 weeks before my half. I’ll give a full detail of my eating lifestyle in about 10 days. Let’s just say, I’ve never felt better and all my clothes fit perfect. The more I lift the more I like it. It’s my happy place. This is the workout I did with my church group this week. I loved the core and abs throughout. Move fast and get it done in an hour! We did each exercise for a minute and a half and then rested for 20-30 seconds between sets. Do each station 3 times before moving to the next station. My obliques are still sore two days later.
Station 1 X 3
Donkey Kicks alternating with ab jacks
Station 2 X 3
Tricep Dumbbell kickbacks
Station 3 X 3
Tick Tock Abs
Station 4 X 3
Hand Release Push Ups
I’ll finish with a few pics. from the trip and one outfit. Life is definitely hoppin’! I have many priorities and projects that I’m working on. I’m grateful I can do so much and still stay sane and happy. (: Have a happy weekend. FOOTBALL!
Soldier Hollow-Sheepdog Championships
Ignore the porta potties. My daughter must have overlooked our background!
Hello!! It’s a beautiful MAY day!! I have a great workout that I just put together for tomorrow’s early morning class. This week we killed the legs on Tuesday and tomorrow is kill the arms day! OH!! And by the way, today is DAY 19! I’ve lost 8 lbs. Yay me!
This time of year is all about the kid’s lives and wrapping up the school year. Normally, I’m not much of a mushy so sad my kids are growing up Mom, but this week was my youngest child’s last preschool class. My eyes got a little teary as I watched his little class skip down the driveway holding hands with their teacher. Geez…I didn’t think the end of my preschool years would get to me. I’ve loved his teacher and he has loved preschool. Today he graduated. He’s been saying all day how proud he is of himself (:
I found another picture I wanted to throw in here from 2007. My daughter’s birthday is coming up and I was looking for pictures of her. This is from my first marathon! I honestly thought I’d only run a marathon once!! My friends are trying to talk me into running a Fall marathon and then running Boston again. As much “FUN” as that sounds, I’m stickin’ to halfs for now. I have a FALL half I want to do and I’m going to work on speed this go around.
Well, it’s almost time for the onslaught of children. I think we’ll go to Orange Leaf to celebrate my cutie boy’s graduation! Have a wonderful sunny day! Get outside!
NEW GOAL! Sweat like crazy! (: The more you sweat the more you burn, right? I’ve been loving my workouts that leave me drenched lately. Running always leaves me that way. Body Attack is a close second. Two of my friends teach that class and I’ve been trying to attend each week. It’s a killer plyo workout. Today after running 6 miles I worked out with my client. I talked with the gym boss too and I’m going to start training MORE!! YAY! I really enjoy it and it takes my mind off all the other craziness in my life! Anyway! We had fun today. This is one of my favorite sweaty workouts. It’s about 35 minutes long. THE BEST!
2 MINUTE WORKOUT
Complete each set 2 x (While one person runs the other person does the second exercise in the set).
RUN between an 8-9 on the treadmill (6 1/2-7 1/2 minute mile) for 2 MINUTES
Kettlebell for 2 minutes
Happy news for me! I’m soooooooooo patient and have been waiting for a rug I ordered in FEBRUARY! It finally came yesterday! I moved everything with a feeble effort from my 3 kids and it fits perfectly! It smells like new carpet! Super NICE!
These were taken after I got back from the gym yesterday. We were being a little silly posing and dancing around. Here I am with my 12 yr. old!
I think tomorrow will be my shopping day at ATHLETA! Hopefully my friend and I will come out with twinner outfits and then maybe I can RUN as fast as her!! HA HA!!! Time to hit the rack! I
need get to run again tomorrow morning! It’s starting to feel like FALL and I love that! SMILE.
