6 Triple set killers

Happy Workout Day!!  This morning I was up with my 5 am crew.  And I didn’t sleep well…arghh…I’m not following my need for sleep this week!  I will be taking a nap today (: I put together some of my favorite exercises that I did on my trip in Florida.  I was so sore!  This is pretty intense and takes about an hour with little breaks.  All over body love!

Well!  I’m counting down the days till my marathon!  My cute little kids were asking questions about the race. They understand what happened a year ago and that this is a pretty big deal.  They were acting a little nervous and so I asked them if they were worried about me and they said they were.  Oh!  That hurt my heart a little.  I tried to explain to them how I’d be fine and that everything will be more secure this year.  My cute 11 year old wants to wear his Boston Red Sox t-shirt on Monday.  I’m also meeting up with a childhood friend that lives in Boston.  It’ll be great to know someone who lives there and to reconnect.  It’s amazing how you can always turn to dear long time friends no matter how much time has passed.

I’ve been trying to decide what apparel memorabilia I need to purchase from this experience (:  I guess every year Boston has a color theme.  This year it’s orange and blue.  The most popular thing to buy is the jacket.  I guess everyone buys them yet many of my friends bought them and never wear it.  I saw this cute hoodie that I think I’d rather have!

D80170_01 D87121_01  That’ll probably be it.  I’m also questioning these cuties too!  We’ll see!

D87129_01 D87165_01 D87137_01I’ve been watching the weather and as of today, the forecast is 57 for the high and 44 for the low.  PERFECT!  My friends were teasing me yesterday about putting up a sign proclaiming my race in Boston.  They kept going with the idea and said they’d put it in a high traffic area and find some swimsuit shot of me.  I know they WON’T do that really (: We were laughing so hard as my face turned red from embarrassment!  I like being low profile, sorta.

O.K.  lastly and totally unrelated but not really.  Tonight we’re going to Il Divo.  I’ve found out that most people haven’t heard of them!  Jaw drop!  Amazing and most beautiful voices.  Here is one of my latest favs of theirs.  This is sung with Michael Ball who is incredible too.  Maybe it will be on my marathon playlist!  Enjoy and be happy for Spring time!!  Summer can’t come fast enough for me!

Back from another WORLD!

We spent the last 2 weeks visiting Spain, France, Italy and then cruising to Greece and Turkey.  This was the first time I’d been on a cruise and I’m having a little bit of dizziness going on from the after effects of the cruise.

The first week we stayed in 6 hotels.  We figured we walked probably 50 miles and went up and down about 15,000 steps!  With all that I still managed to gain 2 pounds!  It didn’t help that we ate gelato almost twice every day and sampled many delectable dishes and pastries from every town we visited.  And that was just the first week!  Here is a random list of some of my favorites from the trip.

  • Our hike through Rupit, Spain.  Mountains, views, cobble stone villages, flowers, and a delicious spanish lunch in a 600 year old restuarant.
  • The FOOD!!  Gelatos, Italian, French, Greek, and Turkish food, thick hot chocolate with pastries, sopa, macaroon cookies, candy from Spain, bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, chocolate, and MORE!!
  • Nice, France
  • Driving through the mountains and coast of Italy to the beautiful town of Cinque Terre.  We stayed in a quaint and unique bed and breakfast built on the cliffs overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.
  • ROME and the VATICAN CITY.  Overwhelming and breathtaking!
  • Leaning over our balcony at night on the cruise and listening to the waves from the ocean and looking up at the stars.

I have many, many more high points.  We had lots of laughs and FUN with another couple that came with us.  Here are a few pics from our first stop to RUPIT.  I’ll add more each day this week.

Monday is also my official MUSIC DAY!  I was told by a friend that each cruise has a “song”.  I think the average age of our cruise was 55 or older!  There wasn’t really one song that stood out in my mind.  The only thing that really made us laugh and gag was the mix of Indian, Latin, and Chinese like music we heard.

One day, I did notice a few good tunes that made me smile 🙂  During lunch I heard the Barry Manilow song, “I can’t smile without you” and a song by Harry Connick Jr.  Later that night at dinner I heard Music of the Night from Phantom being played on the violin.  *Sweet*  For the most part, I missed American music!

Today is also my Dad’s birthday!!!!  I think my love of music comes from him.  He liked Neil Diamond and the song Dust in the Wind.  He sang and performed many times.  When I was 6 or 7, I remember looking up at him in full costume and make up when he was the King in The King and I.  He used to sing while I played the piano and many times he’d drag me to his TV or computer to show me his favorite opera singers.  Here are a couple pictures of me with him.

Here is a song from Il Divo that I love.  My Dad likes this kind of music.  I listened to it on the plane ride home.

Happy Birthday DAD!!  I love you!

I should really get more than 5 hours of sleep and stop eating 19 different treats EVERY day!!

Time to Dig in and Clear my head!!

Back to Reality!!!
