Funny Life and what day of the week should you weigh yourself?

I’ve had a great week!  I need to share a few funny stories.  First off, Happy Valentine’s Day!  I love the red and pink and seeing the kids have fun and I love giving my family little presents on Valentine’s morning and making heart pancakes (: (: (:  We celebrated this morning because who knows where everyone will be Saturday morning?  Here they are:

photo 1Our weather has been unseasonably warm this winter.  I’m not complaining at all even if I do like to ski now!  It’s felt like Spring for weeks.  This leads me to STORY #1!  We got a treadmill for Christmas and I’ve only used it a handful of times because of our awesome weather.  Well, I had an hour to spare the other day while all the kids were at school so I decided to run.  It has many fat burning programs to follow.  I found a good 20 minuter.  I thought I was a little better than a beginner so I chose intermediate level.  O.K.  here I am before my run (: so happy!  I did not take an after shot.  I about died.  I’m running merrily along at warm up speed when the treadmill jumps to 8.9 speed and 2 % incline.  That lasted about 10 seconds for me.  I tried to keep up but unfortunately I had to veer off course and lower my speed.  Then!  It alternated with a 7.0 speed and a 6 % incline. Who the heck decided this was intermediate level?  I felt like I was completely out of shape.  However, this has given me determination!  I want to start out on beginner level and conquer each level!  New goal for me!

On to STORY #2!!  My life has taken a busy turn and most of that is due to the Elementary school play that I’m in charge of.  Sounds pretty mild, right?  No no no!!!  I’m the grand organizer on every level and we are down to one month left and I’m feeling a small panic beginning to come over me!  We have practices in the morning before school and I’m there Tuesday-Friday.  My family is on a pretty good schedule, everyone knows who needs to be where and when.  Well, one morning this week I was at practice and my daughter didn’t have to be there.  Everyone else had left for school and work.  She stays home to get ready and be with her little brother.  I leave a little early from practice to pick her up and bring her to school.  As I’m driving home I look at my phone and see a text from my neighbor that my 6 yr. old has knocked on her door.  He was scared because no one was home at our house?  I should mention he wanted to wear his sister’s purple and pink silky jammies the night before (: I figured he didn’t look for his sister.  When I walked in the door, I found her…sound asleep in her warm bed!  Oh lovely!  We were ready in 5 minutes.  I was laughing laughing.  I’m glad I live in a good neighborhood.

Since my life has been slightly hectic lately, two sweet Moms in my neighborhood told me they’d bring me dinner!  STORY #3!  I never say no to dinner and that’s probably the best thing they could do for me.  I’m a foodie myself and I love to make food for people.  So, when I heard my good friend and fellow director had a sick baby with RSV, I had to bring her dinner.  Hmmm…well, I decided to make a big pot of soup and rolls and bring dinner to her.  I felt a little funny making this dinner for her when my friends were bringing me dinner, but I didn’t want to tell them not to?  I tried to time it just right and get the dinner over to my friend’s house before my dinner came, but wouldn’t you know? As I was walking out my door with my arms full, the two of them came walking up my driveway.  I about died laughing again when I told them what I was doing.  Oh geez!!  Once again, what great people I live around.  They laughed too and didn’t mind.  Let’s just say the stress of meal planning has ceased for a few days!

I’ve run out of time and I need to go celebrate Valentine’s with my kids at school!  You’ll have to wait till tomorrow to hear about the best day to weigh yourself and I’ll include a super GREAT overall body workout that I gave my church group this week.  My whole body is sore!

Have a Happy Day!!  Be Mine xoxoxoxo!  Don’t give into the chocolate and treats over the weekend!!

JANUARY-STILL KEEPING MY RESOLUTIONS

Happy Groundhog Day!  We’ve had such a mild winter that I don’t even mind having more winter!!  I’m finally back from nothing (: just been busy and working through January!  Today’s post will be a report on my New Year Goals.  Yes, I still remember them.  I’m giving myself a B.  My goal for January was to only have treats on ONE day.  My other two goals that I’ve made for myself have some conflicting difficulties with them!  I made a financial goal to only go out to movies twice a month, but then I told myself that ONLY at the movies could I have candy and an ice cream (:  Not a good combo right?  Cuz if I wanted a treat, I said, “Let’s go to a movie”  I think 5 was the number for January!  Yikes.  Oh well, new month!  I’m back to only two movies for the month.  I have to say however, that my little movie treats did nothing to derail me.  I didn’t gain weight and I got right back on after the movie.  My successes for the month are 5 lbs. down (that’s just because of a little holiday indulgences) and better muscle tone.  I’d like to push it a little more for February.  My one week goal for this week is NO GRAINS and NO EATING AFTER 8:00 p.m.

O.K.  here is my speech on weight loss for the day, not that you haven’t heard it already.  It is almost everything WHAT YOU EAT!!!  I have worked out like a maniac for many years and ONLY when I combine my workouts with clean eating do I see changes in my body!  Lately, I’ve been addicted to this super intense cardio workout called HIGH, which I just got certified to teach!!!  Yay me!!!  It’s the best cardio for me and I love it.  I also lift weights 4-5 days a week and run.  Yes, I workout a lot!  1 1/2 -2 hours a day.  That is normal for me and I like it.  Eating well gives me more energy and I feel better, but even with this intense schedule, I’d be doing it in vain if I wasn’t eating well.  In other words, WASTING MY TIME!!  Don’t stray too far from the CLEAN and HEALTHY eating path!

When I first started personal training, one of my clients asked me to train her and she said, “I need to lose X amount of weight and get in shape, but I can’t do what you do!”  I’ve been thinking about that a little.  Already she is giving herself an out.  I thought, well I should give her half of what I do and then of course she’ll get half the results.  If you want to do it, DO IT!!  No excuses AND it is WORK!!  A work that you will come to LOVE!!!

Enough of the soap box.  I’ve found a new hobby that I can’t get enough of.  SKIING!!!  I need a bumper sticker (not really, I have too many already) that says, I’d rather be skiing (:  It gives me such a RUNNER’s high I call it.  I went with my friend last week and I told her one of the  reasons I love skiing is the feel of the environment and the positive happy energy of the other skiers.  It reminded me of the feeling of race day when you’re surrounded with a crazy bunch or endorphin seeking runners!  Love it!!  It has made the winter months so much happier for me.  Here I am with my cute daughter.  I need to take a few action shots next time!  I’m not really good either (:

I’ll end with a few more pics. from the last couple weeks.  This one is me and my bestie teaching HIGH for the first time (:  We love to match!!

photo-79And a colorful church outfit!!  Skirt is Boden and top is Ann Taylor.  Boots are Express.  I have many workout outfits I need to share too.

photo 3One of these days I’ll get it together and be more consistent again with my fun blog.  Right now I’m just getting through the days.  Never a dull moment around our house!!  Something is always keeping us on our toes such as my 16 yr. old slamming his car into our house last night (: Oh the lessons we learn…Have a wonderful day!!  Keep at it!!!  It’s worth it!!  GO FOR GREATNESS!!  This is for my football kids!  My son was a little sad his team didn’t win last night!

Bring it on! Goals, workouts, discipline.

Hello and happy last post of 2014!!!

th-2

Today and tomorrow are my days to get things done!!  Thanks to my MOM, she has instilled a superstition within me!  Whatever you leave unfinished in the old year, you’ll be behind at through the new year.  So….laundry, cleaning, errands…the list continues.  I guess I should thank my Grandma!  So, this will be quick since I gotta get crackin’.  I am so very excited to start 2015.  I thrive on challenges and goal setting.  This last Sunday we heard a talk in church about goals and New Year’s Resolutions.  Everyone laughs a little as the statistics are presented.  Why set goals, if you aren’t going to keep them?   Why set yourself up for failure?  WHY???  Blah. Blah. Blah.  Not my kind of attitude.  M. Russell Ballard said:

“I believe you can train yourself to become a positive thinker, but you must cultivate a desire to develop the skill of setting personal worthy and realistic goals.  Let me tell you something about goal setting. I am so thoroughly convinced that if we don’t set goals in our life and learn how to master the technique of living to reach our goals, we can reach a ripe old age and look back on our life only to see that we reached but a small part of our full potential. When one learns to master the principle of setting a goal, he will then be able to make a great difference in the results he attains in this life.”

I LOVE this!!  To reach my full potential is what I strive for.  This is why I set goals.  And if I don’t keep them, I make new ones!  I’m usually pretty good with the New Year’s Goal.  Last year, I didn’t have candy all year!  And I didn’t, minus homemade Christmas candies!  And, ya know what?  I’m not going to have candy again this year.  I need to update one of my goals I posted in the last post!!  I talked about not having white flour and white sugar.  Well, I’m already not going to have that 6 days a week so my new mini goal is to eat within the first hour of waking up and every 3 hours.  Here’s the updated list:

2015 #1 GOAL

Healthy eating 6 days a week!

6 MINI GOALS

JAN-FEB: One treat day a month.

MAR-APR: Keep a food journal.

MAY-JUNE: Eat first hour of waking up and every 3 hours.

JUL-AUG: Daily vitamins and 80 oz. of water daily.

SEP-OCT: No eating past 8:00 p.m.

NOV-DEC: 6 days a week of Jamie Eason Live Fit.

I always start JAN. 1 regardless of what day of the week it lands on!  This year it’s a Thursday.  I think I’ll do a little detoxing for 4 days with smoothies and soups!  Several Christmas presents this year will motivate me to stay on track!!!  I got a treadmill and some new workout clothes, one can never have too many!  I got two new books!  One is used to track weight workouts.  I’m excited about this.  I’ve always wanted to be better at keeping record of my sets, reps, and weight.  The second is a body part I’ve been wanting to improve (:  The funny thing is that half of the book is about how and what to eat!!  So true!!

th th-1 I also found a new workout I’d like to try for the next 60 days.  It’s posted on MUSCLE AND FITNESS.   It’s called 60 DAYS TO FIT.

60-days-promo-desktop-final-3I liked it because it’s 4 weight workouts I week.  I’m always doing extra classes so this works perfect!

Shoulders/Traps

Back/Biceps/Forearms

Chest/Triceps

Legs

You can download the whole program that includes nutrition at Muscle and Fitness.  He uses the theory of having light and heavy lifting days.  On the other days I’ll be doing boot camp, HIGH fitness, combat, or running.  Can’t wait!!

O.K.  I’m set for the new year!  I’m going to try and be better at posting Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.  Monday will be food related, Wednesday is for workouts, and Friday is fashion and fun!

Keep working hard and loving life.  Get after it and believe in yourself.  See you next year!!

2015 Fitness Goals-finally lose weight!

Happy Merry Christmas Eve!!!  I can finally say WHEW!!!  I have been burning both ends of the candle.  I love this time of year.  For me, it’s a time of reflection.  So much has happened this year, ups and downs, wonderful family friends, running Boston (I can’t believe I did that), and many more!  I also love to wipe the slate clean and start a new year!  Since I’m so far behind on my blogging, I’ll organize my thoughts a little!!  3 topics:

  1. Updated photos of the last few weeks.
  2. My inspiring sister and her 18 week streak.
  3. The unveiling of my 2015 fitness goals that I ALWAYS keep (:  Exciting stuff, I know!

First off, birthday photos.  I always go a little crazy with my birthday plans.  This year, we had a fun friend lunch, stayed in Huntsville with friends (I wish we could of stayed longer), RAN in freshly falling snow on my birthday morning!  Did some Christmas shopping (not fun), had dinner and saw the lights on Temple Square.  AND…my friends planned another birthday run this morning!!!  I’m in need of a nap…zzzz.

Next, a few photos from the annual Family Christmas party.  My little cow and Joseph.  The dwindling nativity scene.  The kids are getting too old!

photo 1-4 photo 2-10O.K.  On to #2!!  My cute sister in Connecticut.  I miss her.  I talked with her on the phone the other day and she told me all about her fitness success!  When she was visiting this summer we discussed exercise and I suggested T25.

Screen-Shot-2014-02-01-at-11.40.18-PM-600x340I’ve never done these workouts.  I know they are part of the Beachbody workouts and P90X.  I knew they were short and intense.  She didn’t want a gym and she doesn’t have a lot of time as a Mom of 3 young children.  This has been the perfect gem for her!  She told me she has not missed a workout in 18 weeks!!  She has more energy and doesn’t get as winded going up stairs or playing with her kids.  She’s even confessed to flexing in the mirror.  I’m so proud of her.  She’s never been a crazy workout fanatic like me but she’s wanted something.  Here we are in April after the Boston marathon!

photo-78

She said the first two weeks were the hardest and then she just didn’t want to miss after that!  I’m going to be thinking of her as I tackle my 2015 goals of fitness!  Which leads me to my grand list!!  I have ONE main goal that I will keep all year and then 6 smaller  goals.

0001BG

I think it’s easier and more effective to have smaller and shorter goals.  I’ll keep you updated.  All I have to worry about for the first two months is total healthy clean eating with one day off a month.  Can’t wait!!  Well, I need to go make some rolls and possibly close my eyes for an hour.  We’ll see.  So happy and grateful for this time of year!  My family, friends, and my love of the gospel of Jesus Christ!  Have a wonderful Christmas!!

Pre Thanksgiving Turkey Burn

Happy favorite holiday of the year!  For as long as I can remember, my Mom has hosted the annual Thanksgiving dinner.  I’ve helped her with the whole process every year and I’m grateful I still live close to my parents so that I can be a part of the tradition.  This year, the party will be at MY HOUSE!  I love the smells, food, the crisp Fall air, and the constant talking and laughing with cousins, aunts, and uncles.  Gratefully, our family enjoys being together!!  It is a simple holiday that doesn’t receive much fanfare and it’s all about GRATITUDE and HAPPINESS.  That’s why I like it!

This morning, last year’s Thanksgiving came to mind and I remember telling myself I wanted to fit into my white pants and wear them on Thanksgiving!  Here I am last year!

securedownloadI’m happy to report that I tried them on again and I think they fit me better this year!  Yay for the old 40 year old (: I won’t be wearing them tomorrow!  I’ll think of something else!  It does look like the weather was nice last year and once again our weather will be beautiful!!!

This week at my church workout I did a super intense and fast cardio Thanksgiving burn!!  It was a two part workout!  I called the Batgirl one the 30 minute warm up.  The 100 rep one I had to cut down to 50 reps.  Weak I know!  We didn’t have enough time!  Give them a try!!  No breaks.  Super sweaty.

I took it easy this week due to a yucky cold!  I’m looking forward to hittin’ it hard starting tomorrow and throughout the weekend.  The evening of Thanksgiving we’ll be heading to St. George (70 degrees!!!!!!)  I already have my workouts planned out (:  I’ve been in the mood for some weight lifting ipod time! And of course pool and shopping time!

Enjoy Thanksgiving Day!!  Be safe and healthy!  Eat as much and whatever you like!!  It’s not so much about what you eat on Thanksgiving, it’s about what you eat on all the ordinary days throughout the rest of the year that adds up!!

Hit the mountains!

This week has been a blur!  I can’t believe tomorrow is Friday!!  I’ve tried to fit more than humanly possible into the last week before school!  My friends and I were able to fit in two of our favorite runs!!  On Friday we ran our favorite trail.  We did the whole loop this week!  Yay!  10 1/2 miles and on Monday we ran down Big Cottonwood Canyon.  That ended up being 15 miles.  Both were so beautiful!  Here’s a pic. from Friday’s run!

securedownload-1

Since Mondays run I’ve been pretty wasted.  It doesn’t help that we’ve been staying out late with friends every night this week past midnight.  I’m still getting up early and trying to do it all on 5 hours of sleep.  I need a major re-organization of my life and goals!!  I’m such a mental person.  On Friday after my run I was at my favorite 129 lb. weight.  My brain goes back to “I can slack on my eating” and I lose it!  I’m going to start yet another 5 week plan (my race is in 5 weeks) and NOT weigh myself.  I’ll give the full details ASAP!!  I’ve been juggling many tasks in my brain for the last several days and after realizing that I can’t have 3 of me, I’ve decided I need to drop a few things.  I’ve upped my jobs at both my kids schools this year and although I LOVE training, I’m going to have to change how I do that!  I’m hoping to be more of a counselor of weight loss and fitness.  I’ll still make up plans and show them how to eat and exercise, but I’m going to cancel most of my workout classes!  I’ll give the details on my fitness plan in a day or two.  With the start of school, I’m ready for a change!

I’ll end today with a Sunday pic. of me and my girls!  And two quotes I’ve had sitting on my computer for awhile!  Keep working hard and get some sleep already!!!

Happy MONDAY!  I’m going back to a real schedule here.  Monday will be FOOD day, Wednesday is WORKOUT day, and Friday will be FASHION day.  Alright then!  Today I’m starting my WHOLE 30 diet.  I’m changing it a little bit.  It’s now called the HOLLIFIED diet.  Here are the RULES and DETAILS!!

30 days.  August 4th-September 3rd.

No days off!

Weigh Saturday mornings.

No eating past 8 p.m.

No grains or dairy.

Huge salad every day.

Protein powder for shakes is o.k.

Protein bars are o.k.

Sweet potatoes and beans are o.k.

Diet will consist of eggs, fruit, vegetables, lean meats, nuts, and legumes.

Pretty simple and straightforward.  I’m on!  This should be a pretty easy month to follow this.  My big summer plans are over.  I’m going to enjoy the last few weeks of summer by reading books, getting organized, and working out!  I’m anxious to up my running game too.  After I successfully finish my 30 days (: I’m going to buy myself a new ipod.  I’m in dire need of one!  Or a new pair of running shoes!

ipod NVO9W2-1

My advice for eating this week is to COOK!  My cooking has been weak this summer.  I’ll be checking out WHOLE 30 recipes on Pinterest, finding new recipes in my Cooking Light and Oxygen magazines, and always always having my fridge stocked with healthy options.  Keep at it!!  Wednesday I’ll be posting a killer lower body workout I’ve been wanting to try!  Be happy!
