10 days and something new

Hello!!  It’s super late.  I’m up finishing laundry and making lists (: I should be sleeping!  November!!  Here already and one of my favorites!  Halloween about did me in.  I’m soooooo glad it’s over.  It gets a little ridiculous at some point.  Thanksgiving has always been my FAV!!!  Sweet, simple, yummy, and happy!  I have several goals and tasks on my plate.  Every day is numbered this month.  I have an order of TO DO’s.  Here’s my LIFE list for November, not just fitness!  Writing this down helps me remember.  Finish and turn in Reflections, prepare a lesson, prepare a talk, finish planning an activity for next week, church volleyball, memorize The Living Christ, water and plant bulbs, organize play committees, hold play meeting, meet with principal, create flyer and send, start and finish Christmas shopping, plan a winter getaway, get ready for ski season, buy Piano Guys tix, signups for Junior Jazz, tumbling class, personal train…I’m going to end there.  I will share a sweet pic. from Halloween.  We visited my in-laws before the Trick or Treating!  The weather was fantastic!  I love my beautiful children.  My husband was playing the part of his costume…yard guy and MIA (:

Now that that’s out of the way, here are my fitness goals.  I have a  10 day weight goal I’m working on.  It’s also a measurement goal.  I have 4 lbs. to go.  I’m pretty good at playing the weight loss game and I know I’ll do it.  November 15th is my weigh in day!  This will be fun!  I’m loving my weights and everything else.  I love to plug my music in and lift.  I used to very much dislike lifting weights, but once you start seeing results, it becomes a little addicting.  I’m following Jamie Eason’s Phase 3 workouts and diet.  LOVE IT!  All my protein powders are running low, so I thought I’d try something new.  I read about a new stack endorsed by Jamie Eason and I’m going to give it a try!  I’ll have to post a review.  It’s protein powder, multi vitamins, krill oil, and anti-bloat capsules.  I found the best price through bodybuilding.com.

photo-64Next, my quote of the day was shared by a fitness Instagrammer I follow.  I read it a couple times and thought, I love that and I love birds!

I’ve got it figured out

Happy President’s Day!  It’s nice to have a holiday now and again.  A day for cousins to play and run through the house and a day to do house projects.  My kitchen is covered in tarp to finish up some granite work.  I’ve been thinking about the weekend and my lack of will power with my healthy eating goals.  I’ve come up with a few ideas.  First of all, I want all of you to know that I don’t always do what I say I’m going to do!!  I throw out different eating ideas, goals, and fitness regimens and then I do whatever the heck I want.  Very inspiring, huh?  I struggle like everyone with several weaknesses.  Sometimes it’s a daily effort to train my brain to get through them.

A few years ago I was staring into my closet looking for something and a thought came to me.  I hoped and wished that my daughter would not turn out like me.  I worry and think too much about being a certain size and I don’t want that to happen to her.  Over the weekend we went shopping and stopped at the chocolate store.  Everyone is buying something and I’m saying, no I’m o.k.  My 12 year old daughter is holding something drizzling with chocolate and caramel in my face and saying, “Please Mom eat this!  I’m tempting you!”  I don’t want her to think I’m that worried about eating a treat.  I give in… and then I eat more later that night and into Sunday.  So, I fail and fall.

The thing I need to learn better is that IT’S O.K.  I want everything to be happy and perfect in my life and sometimes it isn’t and I need to be o.k. with that.  When I get frustrated with myself or I just don’t understand my thoughts, I think of something happy!  I was happy this morning going for a run with 2 of my friends.  Happiness is a choice!  I have a few down moments and then it moves on and I find something uplifting again.  Figure yourself out, what makes you tick and what builds you up.  Don’t be too hard on yourself, focus on others, and do what makes you happy EVERY day.  A few things that make me happy: naps with my 4 year old, flowers, smiles, friends, family, exercise, clean houses, hugs, FOOD, church, LIFE!!!  Breathe it in and live it up!!!  Menu for the next 11 days is South Beach.  Meat, dairy, nuts, veges, and eggs.  I’ll let you know when I hit 127 🙂

Monday Music

So,  I’m getting a little organized here and trying to come up with a different topic for each day of the week.  MONDAY WILL BE MY MUSIC DAY!  We even saw a musical today!!!  It was a girl’s night out and we went to see THE SOUND OF MUSIC!  It was fun and very well done.

The meanings of the edelweiss flower are DARING, COURAGE, AND NOBLE PURITY.  It is a white flower that has an amazing ability to grow in harsh climates.  Love it!!

Here we are at the play:

After the play we visited CITY CREEK and went to the CHEESECAKE FACTORY!!!

Well hello there!!

My girls!

It was a beautiful summer night!  I love to drive with the windows down and feel the warm breeze on my face.  Summer is for RUNNING!  5:00 a.m. or at DUSK, the weather is the same.  I’d like to lay down on a grass hill, stare up at the night sky, and breathe in my favorite time of year!

A love of mine

Today I walked above the city in the warm summer air and looked at the beautiful green trees, mountains, and smelled the crisp, clean air.  I love to run with friends, but sometimes I like to run alone with my thoughts and my music.  Next to my exercise passion is my music passion.  I am not a great singer or musician, but I LOVE a beautiful voice, instruments, and lyrics that speak to the soul.

Over the weekend we were privileged to see probably the BEST performance of Les Miserables I’ve ever seen.  Each voice and character was riveting and many times brought tears to my eyes.  The story is amazing, tragic, and courageous.  I’m reading a book as well about the horror from history around Nazi Germany.  These true stories humble me and make me realize the incredible STRENGTH of the human spirit!  My thoughts also turn to my own self interests and I realize it’s not so much about me, but about others I want to impact.

Does it really matter if my body fat is 20% opposed to 18% or that I fit into a size 6 or a size 4?  It’s about being healthy, yes, but it’s more about sitting a child on your lap and reading them a book, taking a walk with a dear friend, or visiting your elderly neighbor across the street that you seldom talk to.

MUSIC changes me and is many times the thoughts I can’t express.  I’ll be out in NATURE over the next few days.  Get off the treadmill, walk, run outside, breathe, smile, and be happy you have a STRONG BODY!!!!
