12 Week Oxygen Challenge

Alrighty!  I’m going to start off telling you that my computer is having major SLOW issues!  This post will be short and sweet due to my lack of patience!  I have a WONDERFUL trip to report on and an AMAZING 12 week challenge that I’m about to EMBARK on coming up TOMORROW!!!

I have been waiting through the longest month to get started on this.  With my injuries and knowing I’m starting a strict challenge, my exercise and healthy eating life have taken a small dive!  Yesterday I took before pictures and went through the whole measurement thing.  I’m going to weight myself a lot, but I’ll only do measurements and progress pictures every 2 weeks.  This is what I’ll be talking about clear up until October 7th!!!  Seems so far away!  I’m excited to get in the best shape of my life.  My stress fracture is healing up awesomely and hopefully I’ll be able to step it up big time next week!  I do have a small snag in my calendar this week.  For 3 days we’ll be on Pioneer Trek.  I won’t be by a gym (: nor will I be eating exactly what I should, but at least I’ll be walking and walking and walking!

First off, back to my wonderful and amazing trip to SAN DIEGO!  Last December, I purchased 2 tickets to ONE DIRECTION for my 14 year old daughter.  Best money spent!  This trip was a dream come true for her and I was so happy to be a part of it.

We had so much fun being inseparable for 3 days!  We rented a cute mustang convertable and drove all over.  My brother lives close by so we stayed with him and did a few things with his family.  His cute twins enjoyed riding in the backseat as we cruised around singing!  We loved the beach, shopping, sight seeing, and of course One Direction!  Just watching my daughter at the concert was entertainment enough with her crying, jumping up and down, and screaming!  I was quite proud of myself for my mad navigating skills.  I never imagined a concert so huge!  It was in a football stadium that was completely sold out.  65-70 thousand people!  Not to mention Comic Con was going on at the same time and I guess San Diego is headquarters to that big deal too!  Here are some pictures from the trip!

IMG_0276IMG_0464IMG_0445IMG_0465-2As for my challenge, I’ll get ONE good day in and then be AWOL for a few.  I’ll be following the plan 100%  Back to My Fitness Pal too!  I took a little break from that!  After reading through the material and nutrition program, I wasn’t surprised by anything!  Mostly, I need to remember to eat more often, protein, drink water, and eat lots of veggies.  I haven’t seen the workouts yet, kind of dying to see them!  I’ll be back soon with Trek adventures and tips on how to STAY in the game with being healthy!  My FAVORITE way to be!  I also have a slew of family coming to town right now!  We’ll be hoppin’!!  (:  Remember:

Treadmill workout, best yogurt ever, music, and a new passion!

January is almost half way over, but I have to say this has been one of the best January’s we’ve had in a long time.  Our weather has been so nice!  My goals are in full swing.  January is one treat day a month.  I’ve wanted to drop 5 lbs. and tone up!!  What should you do?  CARDIO (:  I’m usually a weight lifting fanatic, but cardio burns the calories, especially HIIT cardio.  Tomorrow I think I’ll crank up the new treadmill and try this workout.  I tried half of it on Saturday at the gym and loved it.  Made the treadmill time fly!  I love sweating (:  I snapped this on my phone and I don’t know where I found it.  There’s a billion of them out there.  I think I’ll try 3 different ones this week!

Next, one of my favorite followers (: shared an amazing yogurt that she bought at Whole Foods.  I rarely eat yogurt because of all the extra stuff in them and the sugar.  This is an organic plain yogurt that she added berries too and she couldn’t say enough of how good it tasted and how it filled her up for hours.  I’m on this!!  Here’s a pic. I found on the internet!  I love walking though Whole Foods.  I wish we had one close to me!  P.S.  I almost forgot she adds a heaping spoonful of chocolate whey protein.  Now I want this yummy dessert!

My MUSIC today is a story about the BEST birthday present I’ve ever given.  This little gal of mine had a birthday last week!

Several weeks before Christmas an amazing thought came to my mind.  I should get concert tickets for Erika.  She has a birthday right after Christmas so I planned it to be a birthday gift.  She loves Taylor Swift and One Direction.  We’ve seen Taylor Swift twice and just recently she has fallen head over heels in love with One Direction.  I accidentally forgot to buy her their new CD for Christmas.  I got her a DVD however and as we watched it together she was screaming and crying about how much she’d love to see them in concert.  I had the hardest time hiding my secret (: Early in December I looked up the One D tour and sadly they weren’t coming to Salt Lake, HOWEVER, a close second was San Diego!  The wheels in my mind started turning!  My brother lives in San Diego.  I could get tickets for the two of us and we could drive or fly out there to see the concert!!  The July date was perfect and after a little persuasiveness with my husband, I bought the present!!  I put the tickets in the CD case and wrote a little note from Harry to her.  I loved it so much and she is soooooooooo excited!!!  Can’t wait!

Lastly, my new passion (like I need another one!) is skiing!  This year we got season passes to Snow Basin.  The kids love it and I love it!  I skied a little as a teen and I taught my 16 year old when he was 6.  I took many years off because my kids were small and it’s so much work.  It’s different now that the kids are older.  Once we get up to the mountain, it’s breathtaking and I love flying down the hill.  I’m taking lessons and both my instructors couldn’t believe I’d never had lessons and one of them asked what sport I played!  He said he could tell I was an athlete.  I love that compliment!  Here’s me and my little girl.  We had such a fun day together!

photo 3I think this post has turned into a novel.  Good thing I type fast (:  Have a wonderful night.  It’s been snowing today.  Time to get up skiing!  Enjoy one of my favorite One Direction songs.  Night Changes.  Work Hard…Always!

FASHION Friday with a side of hard core WORKOUTS and INSPIRATION

Good good morning!  Happy Friday!  I’ve been a little discombobulated this week with the New Year and kids going back to school on a THURSDAY?  I’ve been getting ready for another personal training session.  Today I need to create my GRAND 6 week diet plan!  We are not messin’ around this time!  I read a statistic that said about 48% of people make New Year’s Resolutions and about 8% keep them.  Well…that just motivated me even more to be the 8%!!  I don’t like to hear it can’t be done.  I have my goals by my bed so I can be reminded of them every day.  Today I have 3 things of interest to me!!  Fashion Friday, Workout Schedule, and WOM.

First, I’m going to have Friday be FASHION FRIDAY day!  Since I kinda like clothes a lot, I should post a different outfit each week.  Some weeks will be workout wear.  Other times I’ll post an everyday outfit or a Sunday outfit.  Whatever I’m in the mood for.  SO…today, this is what I wore to the gym.  My husband picked this out for me.  Lululemon.  Love it!  Only two improvements I would make.  The top needs to be tighter in the middle and a little higher in the neckline.  Other than that, perfecto.

Another great idea with posting photos of me each week is to keep me from cheating on my diets and workouts.  Each week will just get better and better since I am not quitting (:

Second, as soon as the new year rolled over I started thinking about training for my marathon.  I need to get flights booked and plans made!  Here is a marathon schedule I’ve been following for several years now.

0001bnI’m on week 3 right now.  Pretty mild numbers for now.  This will soon change!  Several of my friends are training for different races too so I’ll have lots of company!  I made a rough draft of my new workout schedule.  I’ve been loving weights so much I can’t give them up!

Workout Schedule

 MONDAY-Early AM run/Legs and Shoulders

TUESDAY-Early AM run/My bootcamp class ABS

WEDNESDAY-Back and Bi

 THURSDAY-Early AM run ABS

 FRIDAY-Chest and Tri ABS

 SATURDAY-Long Run

And to go along with all those January workouts, here is a new song for the new year brought to you from my sweet daughter.  Why do I like One Direction?

Here’s another one I found.  Sweet.  I love their voices.

O.K. last subject of the day or the month I should say.  I want to have a WORD OF THE MONTH.  One of my favorites came to mind today and that is INSPIRE.

th

The last couple days I’ve been feeling a little down.  Yesterday, several LIGHTS were given to me to LIFT me up.  Albeit they were small, they were significant to me.  A small thought left for me, an email of love and appreciation from an old friend, and a fun night with my daughter and her friends driving around town with the windows down and the music high.  Working out with my friends this morning also brought a smile and a laugh to me.

Notice the little things around you and remember WHO they are from.  HE knows us and what we need. (:
