3 favorite foods you should be eating

Happy Monday!!  Today I have GREAT food ideas, killer workouts for the next 2 weeks, and a sweet outfit (:  FIRST off!!!  I have been so happy with myself for staying strict on my eating.  I am 2 lbs. away from my Nov. 15th deadline and I feel great!  I even ate two treats over the weekend in complete MODERATION!!  That’s my weak spot!  Nothing new about what I’m eating.  Protein shakes, veggies, fruit, and lean protein.  Small servings and lots of workouts since I will be reaching this goal!  I have 3 favorite foods right now!!  SOUP, SPAGHETTI SQUASH, and PESTO (not really a food but a divine flavor!)  Yesterday, I baked a squash in the oven and scraped it out with a fork.  It looks like spaghetti with MUCH lower carb count than regular pasta.  I put a small amount of spaghetti sauce on it, steamed some broccoli, and added a little pesto for flavor!!  SO DELSIH!!!  I didn’t take a pic. but I found this on Pinterest!  FYI!!!  There are so many spaghetti squash recipes on Pinterest!  I think I’ll be trying many of them!!

Cut in half, scoop out seeds, brush with olive oil, bake at 375 for 30 minutes.

As for SOUP!!!  This is how I warm up in the winter.  Our temps just dropped 20 degrees and I’m feeling it!!  One of my FAVORITE soups is the tomato basil soup from ZUPPA’S.  I need to look up that recipe.  On Saturday we were at Zuppa’s and all I ordered was a large bowl of this MINUS the orzo pasta.  SO GOOD!! Tomato_Basil OK!!!  Next up, WORKOUTS!!  I workout too much I know.  This week and last I’ve been on a mission, but normally (: I’m not that crazy!!  You have to look up Jamie Eason’s last 2 weeks of her 12 week trainer.  This is what I’ll be doing for the next 2 weeks.  I’m a little scared! 0001KMEvery day is a different body grouping.  This one appears to be LEGS!  Yikes!  I’ll fill you in later this week on how things are going! I’ll finish up since I don’t have as much time this week!  Early out schedule for the kids takes away 2 hours of my day!  I’m going to get cooking!  I’m making a few meals tonight for friends.  Torture for me because I’m making my favorite rolls!  DIET TIP 101!  Don’t eat any, save a couple and put them in the fridge for later.  Then you don’t feel like you’re missing out!  This will be a fun week of meetings, kid stuff, and my youngest child’s birthday party!  Two parties I might add.  My baby is 6!!  WHAT!?  Have a splendid day!  Work Hard ALWAYS!!!! Here’s my Sunday outfit!  I fell in love with the color of this skirt and then of course I had to have the birdie sweater to go with it!  I can’t remember, but I think it’s all from Banana Republic! The button down shirt is J Crew.  Until next time! photo-66

I have a pretty tight schedule this week and I won’t be able to breath a sigh of relief until Sunday evening!  I have 3 small goals that I want to keep for the next 2 WEEKS!!

1-Weigh 128

2-Protein shake everyday (The super duper kind with fruit and spinach!)

3-No eating past 7:30 p.m.

I think I can handle that!  I can’t believe it’s September!  The days, weeks, months, and years keep moving at breakneck speed.  I’m working on a MASTER marathon playlist that I’ll be sharing soon as well.

Here’s a sweet COUNTRY song I’ll be adding to the list!  Work, Inspire, and Trust you can Kick it this week and always!

DAY 1

HELLO!!!  Happy happy day!  August 1st is here!  From today on, I will be naming my posts by what day I’m on in my 100 day goal of NO SUGAR!!!  I will not be eating white bread, candy, desserts, treats, ice cream, or anything on a box that has more than 6 grams of sugar per serving.  YIPPEE!!!  Another great thing about me is when someone tells me I CAN’T DO SOMETHING, I want to DO IT EVEN MORE!!  Stick around till about the 1st week of November and you’ll see my end results.

O.K!!!  Yesterday’s run entered my list of TOP FIVE runs!!!  I’m so glad because it was on the exact race course I’ll be running in September.  My SWEET little running POSSEE ran 14 miles down BIG COTTONWOOD CANYON!!  It was breathtaking!!  Mountains huge on both sides, a beautiful stream following alongside the road, and the morning sky filled with reds, pinks, and purples.  Best of all, I felt great!!  I’m actually not even that sore today and it was some serious downhill!  My yummy icey limeade was waiting for me in the car at the bottom.  I’m glad I have crazy friends to share in this JOY!!  Here’s the awesome pic. that I took at our starting location!

Sunny berries, mint green, and body fat

I LOVE May, June, and July.  This time of year always seems to fly so I need to take advantage of each day!!  For my memory exercise, here is a recap of my fabulous and beautiful weekend.

HIGHLIGHTS:

1-Baseball game!  Being in the sun, seeing the kids run around, chatting with friends, oh and of course watching the game!

2-Weeding!  That wasn’t really fun, but since it was SUNNY I loved being in the yard!

3-Playing!  Saturday, all the kids had more than one friend over and it was in and out all day!

4-Body Fat Test!  Yes, I’m goofy.  My friends laugh at me for doing it!

5-Dinner party!  We had a group of 4 couples and their families over for dinner on Sunday.  28 people!  I made yummy Hawaiian Haystacks and meatballs and the others brought salad, rolls, and dessert!  It was fun catching up, laughing, and watching the kids play!

This post will be a little bit of everything since I’m going to sign off until May 15th!!!  My personal trainer test is in 2 weeks and I need to spend every second I have studying.  As usual, I’m constantly finding motivation through goals and challenges.  I’m going back to my NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS and I’m actually going to do them for the month of May!!  So far, I have not kept them.  Isn’t that good of me?  Eating will be healthy and yummy!!  Check this out!  So pretty!

tumblr_mll44ylu6A1s631nvo1_500It is berry season and they are sooooooo good for you.  Eat berries EVERY DAY!!!!

Next, my outfits for April were a little weak.  I lost one picture and we missed a couple Sundays, so here’s what I got!!

Mint green! A favorite!

I bought the dress and the top at a cute little boutique in Amelia Island.  I like to buy something you don’t see at home!

Just  a few more details about my body fat results.  I was real close to what I was 6 months ago.  My weight was down a pound?  131 and my body fat was up!  It came in at 18.99%  So funny!  I had said I didn’t want it to be higher than that.  I give myself about a B- for effort too so that’s not too bad.  I should have been more strict on the diet.  I really hope I pass my PT test because I want to get started on my competition training!  I know it will be a great asset to my clients and I’m looking forward to learning more about nutrition and weights.  And of course I will share all my great advice!

Keep it up!!  Get back to your goals!  Refocus!!!  I had a major sugar hangover this weekend.  My run with my friends this morning was much needed!!!  And most especially, DON’T  STRESS!!!  I was happy one of my friends gave me the compliment that I don’t stress out!  I like that!!

Simply beautiful!

Enjoy your spring running!  Wish my Luck!  Relax, Breathe, Laugh, and Love!!

2013-03-24_10-53-27_560-1I’m glad APRIL is here!  Baseball, running, sun, rain, flowers, and LOTS of healthy habits to STICK to!!!

Do you want the good news or the bad news first?

WELL, happy new month, February 1st!!!  One month into the year and I’m needing to evaluate my goals.  Here are my fitness goals I posted at the end of the year and the grade I give myself after one month.

  • Follow 8 week program.  Do not miss a day!  That’s lifting 6 days a week.  C  I followed the program for 2 weeks.
  • Run 3-4 days a week. (I’m signed up for a half in January).  D  I don’t think that EVER happened.  I’ll give myself a little credit since I ran a half.
  • EAT CLEAN!  No white flour, white sugar, or processed foods.  C  Excuses, excuses, but moving into an unfinished house is more stressful than I thought.
  • 3 treat days a month.  This equals out to 10% of the year.  F  I tried for 3/4 of the month I would say.  That’s an F in my book.
  • Body fat at 15% by end of March (My husband won’t like that one).  B  Not sure on this one yet, but I ended the month strong because I was fed up with myself.  I’ll get there!!
  • Finish my personal trainer course by March.  B  I started studying again this week, and I’m on track.  We’ll get it done.

That is pathetic, agreed?  I’m not a giver upper and I have a new and revised set of goals to start for February.  Here they are:

  • Increase my running miles.  I’m going to start next week with a goal to run 15 miles a week and each week I’ll increase the number by 5.  So, the last week of February I should be running 30 miles a week.  I miss running and I am hopeful the weather will cooperate this month.  I also want to run a 16 mile trail run with my friend the end of March.  I need to get my butt in gear.  I will still lift 3 days a week.
  • STRICT EATING!!  Back to no more than 3 treat days a month.  I WILL do this!  Let’s say my weight will be between 125-128 by the end of the month too!  Make it even more exciting.
  • Continue with the 15% body fat and personal training studying.

Sounds easy enough.  I weighed in at 131 today and I’m fine with that.  I’m also doing something fun for the year with my Sunday outfits.  I’ll put this post under TUESDAY THREADS as well.  I’m not a fashionista, but I love clothes.  I want to see if I can wear a different outfit every Sunday for the whole year.  For January, I added blue with each outfit.  Here they are:

IMG_3527IMG_3576

IMG_3606IMG_3615I’m obviously no professional photographer with my vacuum and boxes in the shot.  This will be my fun challenge for the year.

NOW, to the good and bad news.  Good news first!  I have cabinet doors with knobs and handles being installed right now and my granite is IN!!  The appliances were also delivered this morning!!  BIG HUGE YAY!!!  Bad news…both homes have damage from the snow.  Our awning fell down at the old home which we are renting out and the gutter has fallen off our new home and the window wells are filled with snow.  Take a look!
IMG_3627IMG_3629I’ll be going outside to DIG now!!  Have a Heck of a weeKend!
