Taylor Taylor Taylor

Happy Day and Awesome weekend!!!  June is here!!  I’m so proud that I ate well all weekend.  The worst things I ate were a couple of half wheat, half white rolls I made and half a small butterless popcorn at the movies.  It wasn’t easy, well actually it was because when I’m ON I’m ON, but we did have several outings and dinners to tempt me.  Many highlights of the weekend, but I’ll talk about one today, TAYLOR SWIFT!!!  I’m so happy I bought the tickets.  Here I am with my sweetest girls!!

OK!!  Diet update!  You know I’m sticking to one of my many plans when I actually post an update on it!  6 days in and I’m weighing 134.  That is down 3 from my start.  I feel fine.  I wanted it lower, but we’ll get there.  This week in fact.  I’m shooting for 130 by next Monday.  I have a cute outfit waiting for me to wear as soon as I get to 130 (:  Can’t wait!!

2013-06-03_07-42-32_433During my 6 mile run this morning I almost committed myself to running another marathon with my friends.  So many of them are training for one this fall and I have no other races on my brain, so I just might do it!!  There is one on September  14th here locally down a beautiful canyon that is calling my name.  I love summer running!  So, you can pretty much count me in.  I think the marathon will keep me on track with eating healthy eating too.  I can feel a HUGE difference in my running when I’m eating well.

Food this week is not determined quite yet.  We have a busy week with something every night.  I do want to share my friend’s eating ideas for the week.  She’s awesome!!!  YUMMMMMMM*

1/2 banana and a shot of adrenaline

Today started off like any other day.  I met my friends for a morning run at 5:45 a.m.  It’s still dark.  We run on a very popular road with lots of other runners.  We wear reflector vests and run towards traffic so we can jump out of the way when a car comes at you head on and doesn’t stop, slow down, or swerve to get out of the way!  3 of us were running together.  I was in the middle.  A car turned towards us and was either trying to kill us on purpose or was completely oblivious to us, because next thing I know, I’m staring at the hood of his car and jumping out of the way.  I thought for sure he was going to hit my friend on the outside.  She screamed and we survived the near miss as the car sped away.  After that we thought every car was going to hit us!  I was feeling great with my 1/2 banana and a dose of adrenaline.  We finished our 6 miles.  I’m anxious to be on the trails in the sun, away from speeding cars!

Take A Back RoadI’m feeling good with my eating and exercise regimen.  I’m 2 1/2 weeks in and my clothes feel looser everywhere.  I’m sore everywhere too.  I must be doing something right.  I have come up with a NEW reward too.  This is kind of a BIG one and I will forego many other purchases I’d like for my house for this one.  I want to take my two daughters to see Taylor Swift in June.  The concert is sold out and I’m going to have to pay a pretty penny for 3 tickets.  It’s worth it to me.  Pictures, tables, chairs, clothes…do not compare to the memories of sharing the night with my sweetest girls who LOVE Taylor Swift so much!!!!  I kind of do too (:  My little 4 year old gave me a compliment in the car today when we were singing along to one of her songs.  He said I sounded just like her voice!  What a cutie!  I think the ONLY thing I want more than the concert tickets is a water softener.  Other than that, I want nothing.  I want to surprise them with the tickets on my daughter’s birthday in May.  That will be the HARD part!!!

Happy Birthday to my Angel!

Happy Birthday to my Angel!

My little snow baby turns 12 today!  She is a burst of sunshine in our family!  It has VERY much been a GIRL weekend.  Sleep overs with not much sleep, pedicures, getting ears pierced, and TONS of Taylor Swift!!

This song was the one everyone loved, danced, and sang to all night.  It’s number 4 on YouTube right now.  Start the video at 2:03!

My cute daughter wants me to have my TREAT day today for her birthday!  She likes it when I wear jammies, eat treats, and watch Good Luck Charlie with her.  That’s what we’ll be doing tonight!!

Tomorrow…I’m getting serious with my eating habits.  I was o.k. last week, but I could have been better.  I found a great 1 week green smoothie challenge I’m going to try!!  It’s not even CRAZY!!  It’s 4 meals a day: 2 smoothies, a salad, and a soup.  You can munch on as many raw vegetables as you’d like with as much as 1 cup of homemade hummus.  Here it is:  http://vedgedout.com/2013/01/04/its-go-time-whos-with-me/

She claims you can lose 5-10 lbs. in a week.  I think it will give me a kick start to eating healthy and motivate me to keep my exercise habits up!!  The freezing, dark mornings have NOT helped my running schedule!  So…who wants to join me?  I think it will help my stress level too.  I’ve been in a munchie mood lately and I think it’s the anxiety over the new house remodel and moving.  If I know what I’m eating all day, I don’t have to think about that!  I’ll keep you posted throughout the week.

Now, if anyone knows where I can find 3 tickets to the sold out Taylor Swift concert in Salt Lake City, let me know!!!  I was a little bugged when I heard about her sold out concert and I didn’t even KNOW the tickets went on sale.  I’ll be trying to win some through the country stations!!  Here is a picture of my birthday girl and me at Taylor’s concert in 2011.

Happy MONDAY!!  Have a great week and beat the winter blues!!

Class of ’92

Today is SATURDAY STATS and SENTIMENTS day!!  I was looking through some old letters and came across some measurements that I’d recorded of my body from March 1995.  I was 21 yrs. old.  I don’t really measure myself that often, but now I was curious to see the difference!  So, here it is:

5’7″ 130 lbs.

Chest 32, Waist 26, Hips 36, Thighs 20

5’7″ 132 lbs.

Chest 35, Waist 27, Hips 35, Thighs 21, Calves 14, Biceps 10

I saw this photo of a chick that is around my size that made me think of my measurements.  However, I don’t want the 13 inch biceps!

So, there you have it!  I actually like my body better now than I did in high school.  Go figure!  Speaking of HIGH SCHOOL, tonight is my 20 year high school reunion.  I rolled back the time in my mind and tried to think of a few thoughts from my teenage years.  Looking back, I have a different perspective.  I tell the many young people around me how fast time flies.  Enjoy each and every day!  Laugh, live, try new things, learn, work, and PLAY HARD!!!  You are OLD for a LOT OF YEARS!!  Don’t wish away your youth!  So, here are a few pics from the PAST!!
